In our never ending effort to
raise funds to support our sole cause of helping our animals,
the RVHS, with a lot of help from many of our friends, for the
second year in a row put our classic barn to good use for Halloween.
Over the last weekend of October
the old RVHS barn was transformed into a Haunted Barn Insane
Asylum complete with bone chilling scenes right out of
the movies. There were corpses coming to life, ghoulish characters
that shocked the bravest visitors and of course LOTS of really
CRAZY people.
The event was the creative brainchild of our tireless volunteer,
Tracy Olenik. Tracy and staff members Margaret and Tanya were
the official group-guides using walkie-talkies to warn the Haunted
Barn-keepers of the fresh meat (below) they were
about to bring down the path. Haa Haa Haa
 If you've
seen any of these people -- we didn't do our job.
It was a fun project to do that
had not only benefits for our animal friends who need our constant
help, but also in providing a fun and safe place for families
to bring their kids on Halloween to experience a "lifetime"
memory! For most of us it seems, we tend to remember our visits
to a haunted houses with fondness, no matter how many years have
passed.
So our thanks to all our "spooky
visitors" for supporting us and those thanks come from both
the RVHS staff and volunteers, but especially from our pets who
benefited the most from your visit!

Even before dark strange
things can be seen and heard around the asylum.
The Evil Witch was ready
to lure innocent children into a maze that had no exit.
"You wanna be next?"
Waiting for fresh meat...
As the sun sets in the
west the asylum opens for business.
Leave your belongings
at the front desk.
Seriously?

Your move...
"It's what's for
dinner, people, the other white meat".

He did the mash, he did
the monster mask...
Security guards.
Its your move...
I hate it when the tenants
leave such a mess.
How many times have I
told you to PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF!
"Have you seen a
Dr. honey? Your coloring is just a bit off".
Standing guard was Pistol
and Daisy. Scared yet?
The kids were thinking
how silly people are.
