On June 11 the Grants Pass Rotary Club hosted their yearly Dog Care Fair at Riverside Park. This is always a fun event that benefits local non-profit animal organizations including the Rogue Valley Human Society.
The RVHS had their traveling road show manned by Kenway and Diane Mead and also had an Adopt Me parade featuring 9 dogs from the shelter. Tanya Allen and a group of volunteers did a great job getting the guys there and handling them.
Here are a few photos from the event and we hope you enjoy them.
Along with the RVHS there were several other participants. Dogs - everywhere dogs - go figure. This very nice custom BBQ was in a month long drawing culminating at the Dog Fair. All the proceeds from this were for the RVHS.
Best looking dog contest. This was held before out shelter dogs arrived or they would have been front runners.
This guy was really special. He's a 13 year old Bassett who, over the last three years, has lost both eyes to cataracts. The fact that he's blind doesn't keep him from having fun and enjoying all kinds of activities.
Late morning Tanya arrived with the shelter dogs and volunteers. It was game on. As they were introduced, the dogs were paraded around the yard. Encore parade... A big draw was the Weiner Dog Races. There was also a costume contest... poor guy. Thanks again to the Grants Pass Rotary Club for sponsoring this event. Untitled Document
